The SCNAA Presents Its First Book Scholarship Award!

4 January 2022

In December 2021, the Storer College National Alumni Association (SCNAA) selected Malaki J. Meadows to be the first recipient of the Storer College National Alumni Association Book Scholarship Award. Malaki graduated from Jefferson High School, where he excelled in sports while maintaining a 3.8 GPA. He participated in several school clubs, including the Health Sciences & Technology Academy, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club, and the Students Through Charity Club. Malaki also was a two-year member of the Air Force Jr. ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) program and completed over 350 hours of community service.

He is a second-semester freshman at West Virginia University, where he is majoring in Criminology, and he hopes to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation upon graduation. Malaki says the best quote that represents him is, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest” by Ben Franklin. He believes that “when you put time and effort into knowledge and learning, you can acquire anything that you put your mind to do.” No truer words have been spoken! The SCNAA proudly supports Malaki, and we wish him the very best in the future!
